Chairman, Pharma.Aero

Nathan De Valck was one of the founders of the global Pharma.Aero collaboration group. In his current role as chairman he has launched Pharma.Aero, welcoming pharmaceutical manufacturers, airport communities and air cargo operators into the membership. Pharma.Aero has become a powerful voice of the industry and has launched several initiatives fostering strong pharma collaboration amongst the member airports for setting up reliable end-to-end pharma lanes.

Nathan has been working in the aviation industry since 2002. His cargo experience ranges from operational management, legal compliance, business development to commercial account management at several airports in Europe for cargo handling agents and airport operators.

Nathan joined Brussels Airport Company in 2012 as Cargo & Product Development Manager. He is responsible for business development with the forwarders, shippers and other stakeholders at BRUcargo related to all cargo services.

Nathan takes the lead in further strengthening BRUcargo’s position as the preferred European pharmaceutical gateway, through the role of Brussels’ cargo resident pharma and life science logistics expert. Nathan managed the IATA CEIV Pharma certification program at BRUcargo, making Brussels Airport the first cargo community in the world to be CEIV Pharma certified. He presides the BRUcargo Pharma Forum, which has developed an airside pharma transport solution, making Brussels Airport the first airport community with a fully integrated and guaranteed cool chain.

Nathan is also board member of the Cool Chain Association and a full member of the IATA Time and Temperature Taskforce. He studied in Belgium and France and graduated as commercial engineer in Logistics Business Management.
